I was scrolling through Twitter and noticed on Garnier’s twitter feed that they were looking for people to test out their new Pure Active Matcha Detox Mask, and I was lucky enough to be sent a 100ml sample to try out! Having only recently used ‘clay masks’ in the last couple of months, it’s a great time for me to start looking after my skin more and try new products.
As Garnier explains:
‘Use this detoxifying mask to instantly absorb excess oil and pollution residue, magnify the look of skin and visibly unclog pores. Formulated with a blend of matcha tea extract and kaolin clay, it deeply cleanses your skin in just 10 minutes.’
It applies really well, I wasn’t sure if this was going to be quick drying as soon as I applied it. As you squeeze the product out of the bottle, it comes out wet and mattifies as you wait for the 10 minutes. I would say after about 3/4 minutes after application is when you’ll start to notice the mask mattifying on your face. Never fear ladies, it actually smells really nice so don’t be worried about it smelling ‘bad’ or ‘chemically’. I do find applications works best if you have a brush, however you can still apply with your fingers (just prepare for very messy hands!)
On the back of the bottle, it says:
IS THIS MASK RIGHT FOR ME? – Yes, if you have oily skin with clogged pores and are looking for a mask to absorb oil and pollution residue.
HOW IS IT DIFFERENT? – This pore unclogging mask is enriched with Kaolin Clay and natural Matcha Green Tea Extract. It’s creamy texture absorbs excess sebum & pollution residue on the skin. Enriched with Salicylic acid, the mask visibly unclogs your pores. Skin appears purified in just 10 minutes.
For me personally, it worked really well and I can’t wait to try it out again in the next couple of weeks. Being 100ml, it is the perfect travel size item for if you are travelling abroad too (and want to have the pleasure of using a face mask whilst on holiday!) It has left my skin feeling so soft and reduced the ‘oilyness’ of my face. I generally suffer from oily skin so this is the perfect product for me.
Of course, if you generally have dry skin then this may not be the mask for you, but there are plenty of others you can try. Check out Garnier’s range of face masks here. Also to note, I do have sensitive skin and didn’t have any irritation from using this mask. Of course, it is you own judgement when it comes to using products if you have sensitive skin – everyone reacts differently to different products.
If you haven’t personally tried out a face mask, or any face masks from Garnier, definitely give them a try. This product isn’t out in shops yet but keep an eye on Garnier’s social media channels for more updates. Check them out below:
That’s all for now.
