My Most Anticipated Theme Parks for 2019

Well, you know it’s that last stretch of closed season when you start seeing an influx of theme park trips coming together within the community. Not gonna lie, I bloody love trawling through rcdb, coast2coaster trying to work out which parks are on my hit list to visit. Now that I have spent a good 2 years staying within the UK, it’s time for me to spread my wings and go travelling again!

Even as I write this blog post, I am incredibly excited about my trips, thanks to the tips from Jordan at Cupcakes and Coasters here! When the sales started arriving on EasyJet’s website, I couldn’t resist a bargain for flights (and they really were bargain prices!). Considering I have a massive bucket list of places and theme parks I want to travel to, I always have a soft spot for Germany – so it’s not really any surprise that I’ve got 2 trips planned!

Anyway, whilst I have hibernated during the winter season planning trips, I thought I would write down my most anticipated trips for this year – and this no doubt will continue to grow as the year goes on. So let’s crack on with my list…

Movie Park Germany

This park has been on my must visit for quite a while and I am finally going to get the chance to visit in September this year. I cannot wait to experience Star Trek, the Mack Launch coaster that’s received some great reviews. Another coaster I am looking forward to trying out is Van Helsing’s Factory – trying to keep myself spoiler free as much as I can but I can’t wait to try out this ride to experience what everyone always raves about. Of course, I eagerly anticipate finding out how bad Bandit and MP Express are… probably not quite prepared for them but we shall see!

Heide Park

COLOSSOS. Need I say anything else? To be fair, this park has been another one that I have wanted to try out for many years but have never had the right opportunity to go, and considering it was a little touch-and-go with Colossos being out of action for well over a year! I was incredibly happy when Heide announced Colossos would be returning, cause I mean, the community raves about this ride so much! And it will be nice to experience a Merlin theme park outside of the UK – although I do want to go to Gardaland too but that can wait for another year.

Europa Park

It has been almost 5 years since I last stepped foot inside Europa Park – I know, what am I playing at? – but I am eagerly excited to return and explore the newness that has arrived in the park including Voletarium and the new Ireland area. It also gives me a chance to reride some of my absolute favourites including Blue Fire, Wodan and Arthur. Despite being somewhat sad of the departure of EuroSat, I am looking forward to trying out the new CanCan coaster – even if it might be tacky, can’t say no to a bit of Moulin Rouge. 😉

Tripsdrill

In the similar vein to Europa Park, last time I visited was in 2014 and I couldn’t believe that I didn’t see the whole entire park! There was just something interesting and quaint about Tripsdrill. The unique rides that you wouldn’t see in any theme park in the UK including numerous themeing pieces. I loved riding Karacho and exploring the fountain of youth with Badewannen-Fahrt zum Jungbrunnen or as I like to call it, ‘Boobs the Flume’. I can’t wait to return!

Blackpool Pleasure Beach

You might be thinking, what? Why? Hear me out, I never got the chance to visit Blackpool last year to ride Icon and it bugs the hell out of me *waves hello to FOMO (Fear of Missing Out)* So you know damn well, I’m gonna make sure I get myself to Blackpool this year so I can ride Icon. Plus, there’s some real classics including Grand National, Valhalla and Big One. Blackpool is one of those parks that may not be considered world class by myself but it’s a true gem in the UK theme park world.

This scratches the surface as I have definitely got a nice list of parks that I will be visiting this year (including quite a few NEW parks!), as well as the usual ones in the UK including Thorpe Park, Alton Towers, Chessington and Paultons Park. I can’t wait to go travelling again this year, it’s been way too long! What’s on your list of theme parks to visit this year? Have you got any exciting plans or keeping it low-key? Let me know!

That’s all for now.
